How to play a color guessing game
A color guessing game asks a simple question: can you rebuild a familiar color from memory? The useful part is learning to judge a shade in three smaller pieces instead of trying to find a perfect answer at once.
Start with the subject, not the sliders
Look at the missing part and name the color in ordinary language first: sunny yellow, dark navy, muted red, pale skin tone. A flag stripe, team logo or cartoon accessory often has a strong visual identity. That first impression gives you a direction before you touch a control.
Use HSB to rebuild the color
ToonTone uses HSB controls. Each one changes a different part of what you see:
- Hue is the color family: red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple.
- Saturation is intensity. Low saturation looks grey or washed out; high saturation looks vivid.
- Brightness is how light or dark the result appears.
Set hue first, then decide whether the reference is vivid or muted, and finally correct the lightness. This order avoids chasing several differences at the same time.
Play five deliberate rounds
