This Privacy Policy explains what information ToonTone ("we", "us") collects, and why. It covers both this website at toon-tones.app and the Toon Tone mobile app, which are described separately below because they collect different things.
You can play the game here without an account. We never ask for an email address or a password.
Leaderboard. The first time you start a game we ask for a nickname. If you finish a game, we store that nickname, your average score, the category you played and the time you played it. We also store a random identifier that your browser generates, so that playing again updates your existing entry instead of creating a duplicate. That identifier is a random number: it is not linked to your identity, your device or any other website.
Analytics. We record one entry per page you open, containing the page address, the domain name of the site that linked you to us (for example "google.com", never the full address), your browser language, your window width, and a random identifier that is discarded when you close the tab. We do not record your IP address. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports visits in aggregate without cookies and without tracking you across other websites.
Stored in your browser. Your nickname, the random leaderboard identifier and your language choice are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are only sent to us as described above.
This website sets no cookies, shows no advertising, and performs no fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.
Gameplay progress — scores, streaks, settings — is stored on your device. The app also records how it is used: app opens, the modes and categories you pick, games started and finished, hints used, shares and rating prompts. This goes to Amplitude, an analytics provider, together with your device identifier, app version, operating system, language, device model and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It is used to understand usage and improve the game, never for advertising or for tracking you across other apps and websites.
If you join a leaderboard or play Multiplayer, we store your nickname, your score, the category, the date and a device identifier, on Supabase. Your nickname and score are visible to other players.
If you allow notifications, the app schedules a daily reminder for the Daily Challenge. Nothing else is sent, and you can turn them off in the app or in your device settings.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, our subscription provider; we never see your payment details. ToonTone shows no advertising, sells no personal information, and uses no third-party advertising identifier.
To run the game's features, to understand how many people visit and where they come from, to fix bugs and to improve ToonTone. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks.
Clearing your browser data removes your nickname and your leaderboard identifier from this device. Because that identifier is what links you to your leaderboard entry, we cannot connect you to it afterwards, so please contact us first if you would like the entry itself removed. You can request deletion of your data at any time from the Delete My Data page, or by email.
In the app you can turn notifications off at any time, in the app settings or in your device settings; you can choose not to join a leaderboard; and you can pick a nickname that does not identify you. Subscriptions are managed from your App Store account.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising or marketing. Data goes only to the providers named above, which process it solely to run the service for us. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of players and of the game.
Leaderboard entries stay as long as the leaderboard shows them. Analytics data from the app is kept while it remains useful to understand usage and improve the game. Anything stored in your browser stays until you clear it.
ToonTone is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children below the age set by applicable privacy law without the appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review it.
We may update this policy as ToonTone evolves. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page.
